Global Peace and Security

Global peace
The mission behind continued U.S. presence in Iraq is crumbling. The Catholic Social Teaching principle of universal human dignity demands not only that we end the war, but that we help rebuild that country so that its citizens have what they need to lead peaceful, productive, stable lives.

Fair trade and responsible investment
Catholic Social Teaching principles such as universal human dignity, participation as a basic human right and stewardship of God’s creation guide our positions on Fair Trade and Responsible Investment. NETWORK believes: 1) market economics should be used to enhance the wellbeing of all people, 2) when market economics cannot or does not work to the benefit of all people, the situation should be remedied so that universal benefit can be achieved, 3) all who are impacted by trade and investment policies should have a hand in shaping them, and 4) trade and investment policies should protect the world’s natural resources and support sustainable development.
