FY 2011 Defense Authorization Bill

H.R. 5136, the Fiscal Year 2011 Defense Authorization Bill, includes funding for missile defense and other military activities. On May 27, 2010, the House declined to eliminate funds for a second F-35 Joint Strike Fighter engine (which was opposed by both the Pentagon and NETWORK) by a vote of 193 – 231, and it approved the overall bill 229 to 186 the next day. The legislation will next be taken up in the Senate.
