July 1, 2012: Governor Nikki Haley (R) has rejected federal funding to provide health coverage for the uninsured. With Republican majorities in the legislature, there is much work to do!

Status:

As of January 31, 2012: Governor Pat McCrory (R) has not yet made a decision on accepting federal funding to provide health coverage for the uninsured. With Republican majorities in both the House and Senate, there is much work to do!

Medicaid: Delaware

Status:

June 28, 2012: Following the Supreme Court decision, Governor Jack Markell (D) indicated his intention to accept federal funding to provide health coverage for the uninsured. The legislature is expected to also support this decision.  

Medicaid: Maryland

Status:

June 28, 2012: Following the Supreme Court decision, Governor Martin O’Malley (D) expressed his intention to accept federal funding to provide health coverage for the uninsured. The legislature is expected to also support this decision.  

Medicaid: Pennsylvania

Status:

September 16, 2013: Governor Tom Corbett (R) has introduced an alternate Pennsylvania plan for Medicaid Expansion. This plan will need to be approved by federal health officials and the state legislature.

Status:

February 26, 2013: Governor Chris Christie has decided to accept the federal funding to provide health coverage for the uninsured. It is expected that lawmakers in the state legislature, with its Democratic majority, will also push for accepting this money.

Status:

June 28, 2012: Following the Supreme Court decision, Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) indicated his plan to accept federal funding to provide health coverage for the uninsured. It is expected that the legislature will also agree with this decision. 

Medicaid: Georgia

Status:

August 28, 2012: Governor Nathan Deal (R) has rejected federal funding to provide health coverage for the uninsured. With Republican majorities in the legislature, there is much work to do!

February 4, 2013: Governor John Kasich (R) supports accepting federal funding to provide health coverage for the uninsured. With Republican majorities in both the House and the Senate, there is still much work to do!

November 13, 2012: Governor Robert Bentley (R) has rejected federal funding to provide health coverage for the uninsured. With Republican majorities in both the House and Senate, there is much work to do!
